Run Tucker County Sex Offender Check

Use the West Virginia State Police registry to run a Tucker County sex offender check for personal and community safety. The official search supports county, name, street, city, internet-identifier, and address-radius routes. A careful Tucker County registry search also checks physical details, residence information, offense context, flags, and the last update instead of relying on a name alone. The public record is updated often, yet it is not a live risk score or a guarantee of completeness. WVSP and its Parsons Detachment provide the official correction, tip, and local follow-up channels.

Running a Sex Offender Check in Tucker County

The West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry is the primary source for Tucker County. WVSP maintains it under the West Virginia Sex Offender Registration Act. The user must accept the opening disclaimer before searching. No account or fee is required. County mode is a strong first pass because it covers Tucker addresses beyond a single town and avoids guesses about which mailing city a residence uses.

The official WVSP registry interface displays the search gateway used for Tucker County.

Tucker County sex offender check on the West Virginia registry

The state interface is the authoritative local search layer, but its disclaimer says information may still be verified or changed and does not assess a registrant's risk of reoffending.

Search results should support reasonable safety steps, not assumptions about present conduct. A missing result is not a certificate that no person or qualifying record exists. Try broader inputs, check again, and use the Registry contact when a listing appears wrong or absent.

Tucker Registry Radius Choices

The Neighborhood tab searches around an address. It accepts a street address, city, five-character ZIP code, county, and a radius of exactly 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, or 25 miles. That tool can be more useful than city mode in a rural county where residents and nearby places may use different mailing labels. The circle is a geographic filter only. It does not say that each person inside it presents the same risk.

Basic search also accepts last name, street name, city, or county. Advanced search combines last name, street, city, and county, then can limit results to wanted offenders or sexually violent predators. The Internet tab checks an email address or username. It is not an alert subscription. The inspected portal did not offer a public email-notification signup or map toggle.

Note: Start with Tucker County mode, then use a smaller address radius only when the location is known well enough to avoid a misleading result.

Searching the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry

A countywide result can be refined without making a name-only match carry too much weight. Record the search route used and the date checked, since the data is updated and can change.

  1. Open the official WVSP registry, read the limitations, and accept the disclaimer.
  2. Choose Basic, set Search By to County, select TUCKER from County Name, and run Search.
  3. Use Advanced to combine a last name, street, city, and county, or use Neighborhood with an exact 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, or 25-mile radius.
  4. Open the detail record and compare age or date of birth, physical description, address, offense context, status flags, and Last Modified date.
  5. Use Internet for an email address or username. Use the official Submit a Tip tool or contact WVSP when data may be wrong.
  6. For an interstate search, repeat through the U.S. Department of Justice NSOPW system, then return to WVSP for the detailed West Virginia source.

The portal exposes several distinct inputs. Knowing their exact role helps prevent a county search, address search, and identity check from being treated as the same task.

Verify Tucker Registry Identity Carefully

Results list name, race, sex, age, address, and city and state, then link to a detail profile. A name alone does not prove identity. Compare the public physical description, age or birth date, residence, profile photo, registered property, offense context, and update date. Multiple residences can appear. Wanted and sexually violent predator flags describe legal status, not a numeric prediction of future conduct.

A listed offense section may show conviction date, victim relation, victim sex, victim age category, and a narrative offense description. Victim names are not displayed. Registered employer and school sections may contain location facts or a no-record state. The inspected public layout did not promise vehicle data, scars or tattoos, an export file, or a Tier I, II, or III label.

When two people share a name, do not fill gaps with social media or commercial people-search data. Use only the official fields shown, check the Last Modified date, and contact the Registry for help with a possible error. WVSP says the public data does not guarantee completeness or accuracy.

What a Registry Profile Shows

The public profile is a selected disclosure record. Law enforcement may collect more registration data than the public template displays. The inventory below reflects the official interface inspected without retaining a person's identifying values.

A registry profile is not a TVRJ booking entry or a Tucker County court file. Use the Tucker County court directory when the underlying judgment must be verified with a clerk.

HeaderProfile photograph, displayed name, and profile-specific Submit a Tip control.
Physical detailsDate of birth, age, race, gender, height, weight, hair, and eyes.
ResidenceStreet, city, county, state, and ZIP, with room for multiple residences.
Other locationsRegistered property, employer location, and school information when supplied.
Offense factsConviction date, victim relation and categories, plus offense narrative.

The official profile layout is the source used to inspect these labels. No name, address, or SID from an individual record is reproduced here. Court records remain the better source for the full criminal case and judgment.

WVSP and NSOPW for Tucker Searches

WVSP is the detailed state source for a Tucker County record. The Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website, run by the U.S. Department of Justice, searches participating jurisdictions across states, the District of Columbia, territories, and Indian Country. It is useful when a safety check crosses West Virginia's border or a recent move may connect more than one registry.

The official NSOPW search provides that broader national layer.

National supplement to a Tucker County sex offender registry search

NSOPW name search requires first and last name, while location features depend on the data each jurisdiction supplies. Return to the WVSP profile for West Virginia-specific detail and local contact routes.

The two systems supplement rather than replace each other. A no-result response can reflect search spelling, unavailable coordinates, reporting timing, or verification work. Repeat with another official route before drawing a conclusion.

Registration Requirements and Levels in West Virginia

West Virginia does not label every public profile with federal-style Tier I, II, or III. State law uses a ten-year versus lifetime duration scheme, with a separate sexually violent predator designation. The governing duration rule is W. Va. Code §15-12-4.

The official registration-duration statute shows the West Virginia categories used for Tucker County records.

West Virginia duration law for Tucker County sex offender records

The statute, not a federal tier shorthand, controls how long a West Virginia duty lasts and when a person may petition after the underlying conviction is overturned.

West Virginia categoryDurationVerification
Qualifying registrant without a lifetime conditionTen years from the statutory release or supervision starting pointBirth-month report; annual address verification
Lifetime registrantLife when a condition in §15-12-4 appliesBirth-month report; annual verification unless SVP
Sexually violent predatorLifeJanuary, April, July, and October reporting; address checked every 90 days

Lifetime conditions include specified prior findings, multiple victims or violations found through the statutory process, sexually violent offenses, and qualifying offenses involving a minor. Completing probation does not automatically end registration. If the conviction creating the duty is overturned, the person may petition the court for removal under §15-12-4(b).

Tucker Registration Uses WVSP Parsons

West Virginia law directs a registrant to the State Police detachment responsible for the county of residence. For Tucker County, that is the WVSP Parsons Detachment at 9105 Seneca Trail, Hambleton, WV 26269, telephone 304-478-3101. No walk-in schedule, local fee, or appointment rule was published. Call first to confirm the required time and documents.

The official detachment directory supplies the local WVSP contact. The Tucker County Sheriff's Department page gives the county public-safety fallback and its First Street office details.

The Tucker County Sheriff's Department receives statutory notifications and is a local public-safety fallback, but it should not replace the detachment as the registration point without confirmation. For suspected current criminal conduct, use local law enforcement or emergency services rather than treating the Registry email as dispatch.

When Tucker Registry Data Looks Old

West Virginia Code §15-12-3 requires covered changes in address, residence, occupation, vehicle or trailer data, school or training, and other required information to be reported within ten business days. Every registrant reports in the birth month even without a change. An SVP reports quarterly. WVSP verifies most addresses annually and SVP addresses every 90 days.

If a Tucker County listing seems wrong, first compare the Last Modified date and try a broader search. Then call the statewide Registry at 304-746-2133, email registry@wvsp.gov, or use Submit a Tip. The tip form asks for email, subject, description, and reCAPTCHA, and can carry the profile SID when opened from a detail record. The Parsons Detachment is the local follow-up office at 304-478-3101.

Do not confront a person or try to collect evidence through trespass, threats, or surveillance. Supply the official office with the facts already known. WVSP can determine whether an update is pending, the wrong person was matched, or law-enforcement action is appropriate.

Lawful Use and Community Notification

The registry supports personal, family, and neighborhood safety. It does not grant permission to punish, threaten, expose private family members, or deny lawful services. WVSP states that it does not assess an individual registrant's risk of reoffending. A profile reports statutory registration and conviction facts, not a live threat assessment.

Community notification under W. Va. Code §15-12-5 can involve law enforcement, schools, child-protective services, youth-serving groups, care providers, and other named recipients. For an SVP, the prosecuting attorney and State Police conduct the statutory program. Notification may disclose specified public facts but not a victim's name.

Registry misuse warning: WVSP forbids using registry information to threaten, intimidate, or harass. False tips, criminal misuse, and aiding evasion may be prosecuted under West Virginia law, including W. Va. Code §15-12-8.

Section 15-12-8 chiefly sets penalties for knowing registration failures, materially false registration statements, repeat noncompliance, and knowingly helping a noncompliant registrant evade law enforcement. It does not authorize members of the public to investigate anyone. Verify official details, take proportionate safety steps, and report concerns through the Registry or local police channel.
